Trip to Florida taking place...Logistics bolluxed

It's about 15 here in Sparta, NJ.
After many delays it looks like we'll be leaving for a two week road trip to visit our daughter and family in Fort Lauderdale. Looking to take about three nights to get there.
Any ideas for sleeping along the 95 route? Nice campgrounds or State/County/Federal Parks? We'll have Ace, our dog, with us.
First night will probably be in VA/NC...

Hey Jeff,
We stayed at the RV Resort in Roanoke Rapids NC. Easy on and off 95 (get directions off their website), clean restrooms and they have after hours self check in sites for $30 with electric and water.
We stayed there on just a couple of days ago. Hope you are enjoying your trailer
