FOR SALE 2011 550 Ultra SUV #467

Yaak

Newbie
Our trailer has been continuously stored in our heated garage except when out camping. We’ve never had it out in freezing conditions, and it has only been rained on twice (I think). It was washed after each outing before storage, and it was “Walbernized” once. In storage I have maintained the house battery (yes, it’s the original one) routinely using the installed Battery Tender maintainer. It’s nice because after a complete charge it will maintain 13.7 volts in a “float” state. It only has around 2250 miles on it!

It may seem odd, but we’ve only had it out 8 times since we got it. Family , pets and other life issues kept thwarting us. Now, as we keep aging (darn it) , it no longer fits our needs. It’s a beautiful little rolling campsite, and we’d like to see it go to an appreciative home.

Ya, thats another really nice one!
I get it- its hard to let something as cool and fun go, but think of all the good memories the next folks will make!
The 550's are more rare so there is some extra collectible* value in that too...
GLWS!

*any bets on when the first CampInn shows up on BAT?

Very nice. Would you please share what type of shade structure (brand and size) you have on the back. We’re looking at getting our trailer next year and making notes on things we like. Your set up looks perfect.

The awning in the pictures is an older REI “Alcove” of 2011 vintage that was listed in several posts back then. I think it came in only one size, but as you can see it fits the trailer quite nicely. We also had two side walls to keep it snug. One note: it drains okay when erected on level ground, but can pool water on the top edges if not level. Just keep an eye on it when it rains.

Yes. Quite nicely. If you happen to know the dimensions of the “Alcove” would appreciate if you would post here so i could compare w/ what’s out there now. I want to bring it to Necedah next year!!

I looked on the shelter and found no dimensions. However, I checked their website and found the old listing, marked “This product is not available “. I attached pics of the technical specs. When erected it just allows the galley door to raise to full height. Really worked nicely. Perhaps you can use this info to compare other shelters. Big Agnes makes some nice looking shelters, too. Look at their Sage Canyon Shelter Plus. Looks to be just a tad larger. Nice design.

Thank you for doing that. I should have done that (doh!)… I’ll take a look.

There are so many shelter alternatives, and one of the oldest threads on this forum is dedicated to the many approaches. Including the REI Alcove, a favorite of many. So much more info and experience is here:
That thread is still lively today!

Hello neighbor @Yaak in Beaverton! We are rocking a 560 in West Slope. If you end up with a surplus side tent… I’d be interested, it’s about the only thing we haven’t tried!

Thanks, Seth. I’ll be sure to check that one out.

What's BAT?
I was sorta joking but look! A Teardrop already on BAT. Its where a lot of collectible cars are sold.
Clearly substandard compared to CampInn but then I AM a fanboi.
Update- looking at comments this is likely a kit produced in 45-46 so its pretty old and unique- from the first generation of teardrops.

PS: sorry there OP, Mr @Yaak
