Update 550 Footprint

First set of build pictures having arrived, the countdown to pick-up at the nest has commenced for our 550.

Spent the weekend rearranging the garage because -- having measured 18 ways from Sunday about a million times -- we have persuaded ourselves that the 550 will fit, just barely, *sideways* in the stall in front of the Honda Element, which we got for a TV in part because it's short.

I know the 550's overall exterior dimensions are 11 feet by six and a half feet, but was wondering whether anybody's got a scale drawing of the 550 "footprint," as we continue to tweak the garage arrangement.

Your 550 probably cost more than the Honda...
Keep the Camp Inn inside and the Element outside.

Haha. Not quite, but very close. However, the Tear and the Element combined cost more than my parents' first house.

Right. +11 inches on the length. Like I haven't studied the specs page in the manual 28 million times. Thanks, Pttywgn.

Luckily, that's the dimension where we have much more play. It's going to fit transversely across the front of a two-car garage. I'm counting on the 550 being pretty easy to maneuver around by hand on a cement floor.
 
I guess I'll take that slap. I know the 560 is 10' and I figured 3' for tongue. I glanced at the manuel once or twice. Now I'll go home and measure the garage to see if I have the extra 11". Wish me luck :)

Very easy to move although if there is a slope at the front of the garage it can throw you off. When pushing Rosy Lee in i get help to push her up the slope one the two wheels are in easy as Pie.

You can always get a hitch dolly to help I'm thinking of getting one as sometimes on site I want to turn sideways but the tongue wheel is to awkward to maneuver on grass and gravel.
 
My 560 is very easy to maneuver on the level cement garage floor. I would not want to try to control it on a slope. The swivel wheel works better if it is level with the camper. If it is higher than the camper it doesn't work at all.

As long as you remove the wheel chocks first.
 
We are able to garage our 550 and it's also a tight fit. Tim bought a (bright purple!) lifting strap from Harbor Freight to help maneuver her around - he threads the strap through the round hole at the front of the trailer. It seems to help (our garage floor is pretty pock-marked and cracked). We then keep the strap in the front storage compartment. We haven't had to muscle her around a sloped campsite yet.
