Itinerary 9th Annual Camp-inn Camp-outt

I "camped" last night at a Holiday Inn in the Wisconsin Dells. (Was my 3rd choice for a hotel. Cranberry Festival crowd had made the first two full.) I show up at the Mother Ship later this morning to pick up my rental 560, then I'm back down to CICO!

My tow vehicle is a Silver-Gray Lexus SUV. I may stop in at the Big Blur Tarp as I pull in with my 560 just to say Howdy to whomever is there.

We are in the Dells too at the Hilton Garden hotel. We also tried the other two but were shut out. We pick up our 560 at 9 o'clock. Up and ready to go but BURRR! Our blood is thinned out from being in Florida.
 
Holy crap, Betsy -- 23 degrees!!! Yosemite has been low 90's during the day and mid 50's at nite. Still wish we were there with you. Can we pre-register for next year now?

We are back home after spending a very enjoyable weekend at our first Camp-Inn Camp-Outt. Thank you to Craig, Betsey, Cary and all the other wonderful people who helped organize and host this awesome event!! We met so many genuinely nice people who made us feel very welcome. The weather was ideal, the food was delicious, the trailers were awesome, and the people we met and spent time with were the best!! Safe travels to everyone! Julie & Terry :)
 
Well we made it through the first day on the road. Two lookie louies--one followed us six blocks to find out what it was all about. We even got our side tent up and had dinner all within 40 minutes. Thanks Terry for getting Mike straight with our side tent. Also, thanks to Betsey, Craig, Cary and all the wonderful people at Camp INN for a great weekend. We are loving our Raindrop. It was really fun to meet all our buddies up here on the forum. What a great group of people. Can't wait until the next Camp Inn.

What a great weekend! What I liked about this CiCo: meeting wonderful new friends, enjoying a great party provided by Craig, Betsey and Cary, picking up my new TD, stories around the campfire (except one), great food, a really cool camp ground, and on and on.
What I didn't like about CiCo: roads named "G"!!

To the folks of Camp Inn, you know who you are, Betsey, Craig, and Cary, as well as the folks from the Tear Jerkers that filled in the gaps. Super job. Who ever was in charge of the weather, sign them on again and give them the assignment.
I alsways enjoy my stay in Wisconsin. No mater what I have camped and on, I have gotten the best sleep. Clean air I think. It was good meeting up with aquaintences from past, but this year I was lucky enough to spend some one on one time with a terrific lady. Our beloved Jenn. I thoroughly enjoyed that experience. I highly recomend this to anyone out there. You will part company with a wonderful feeling.
Met Jim and Sue what a whoot. Another must. And of course I got to see the 8th wonder, Bob was verticle for a moment. ( I think someone mentioned food. Jean W, Joe B. Steve, the list goes on.
My Ben is really bummed as well, he had a great time and he also met some new friends. Don't let anyone try to tell you a Basset Hound can;t run. You go Henry.

What wonderful weekend! Words don't quite seem to be enough to thank Betsey, Craig, and Cary and the rest of the Camp Inn folks. We had a great time talking away our days and evenings, making new friends, and just relaxing. Thank you all! As all good Harley riders and Camp Inn campers know, it's not the destination, it's the journey. Safe travels to all those on the road.

This looks like so much fun. I hope we are able to come next year. We have to see what school says about a kindergartner missing class for a spell! I can't believe how fast these kids grow! Crazy!

Plus, depending on where the wind blows Jenn, that might be the next time I get to see her! (I am assuming she will be there again next year at least!) It would be great to get to know faces I have chatted with on the forum for so long.

The pictures are great! Looking forward to seeing more! Thanks for sharing them!
 
Thanks so much for such a great event Betsey and Craig, it was nice to be around so many nice people who love to camp and be outdoors. The potluck was amazing and so much food and so many different choices of food. I am excited for next year's event. This was my first time to the camp out, I was not sure what it was going to be like. Due to me not owning a camp inn camper or a teardrop design. Mine is home built that I wanted to design my own and converted a Haulmark enclosed trailer 6X10 into my own design of a camper. I felt so blessed of everyones kind words to me about how you liked what I did and how I designed it. That is a good feeling inside and everyone was so postitve and supportive. Everyone pulls together and helps each other out. I had great neighbors over the weekend. I was happy to see the college group party packing up Sunday morning that was not part of the camp out group, It was interesting to see how high they could get there bon fire after going through 10 bundles of wood.

Thank you so much Craig and Betsey for the Camp Inn Liscense Plate. That was very thoughtful and that meant alot to me.
I am looking forward to next years camp out. : )

Also can you send me some of the Camp inn brochures I have friends and family that asked me about it. So if you can send me a stack and if you need me to pay for shipping cost just let me know.

It was good to see another Enclosed trailer there as well. At the starting stages of it I remember the starting stages when I had the ideas going through my head and just rememeber when doing it the most important thing in any build is balance the weight out inside and the front should be heavier then the rear. I tried to do 60 percent of the weight in front and 40 percent of the weight in rear. I dont have any special sway bars and I can pull my camper on the freeway without any sway it stays straight on the road and when I pass a semi it does not sway on the road at all even at higher speeds. And one important thing to do is trailer brakes you will feel so much safer on the road. And also will save your brakes on your tow vehicle as well.

If you need any help with your ideas on your build on the conversion of your CT just email me and I can give you some past experience ideas on what is the best method. Also another good idea is to start off with a empty slate and then take blue painters tape and go inside your CT and mark off where you want things and then measure and see if that design is the best and also the best to move around inside as well. My next design will be larger enclosed trailer and hoping for 7 feet wide so I can have the bed in back go width wise and not length wise. So I have more room. And then design a bathroom in front by the V-Nose. Always your first build is trial and error and you learn from them and your next build is design with the things you wish you did the first time.

I am bad with names and everyone that I met and I was able to talk to were super nice to me and I enjoyed seeing there teardrop there homebuilts : )

Thanks for coming to the CICO. Tearjerkers includes all shapes as evidenced by teardrops, old tiny travel trailers, one large travel trailer, 2 CT, and tents.

I am laughing at the "I had great neighbors over the weekend". 99% of the remining CICO campers do not share the same comments.
If you are talking about Terry and Julie, your comments are spot on-they would be wonderful campground neighbors.

Your camp kitchen is impressive. Did you cook anything?

Maybe, oh maybe some day you will build your own teardrop.

Yes that is me on the TNTT site. When I created this account I accidently typed Blcreation34 instead of Bkcreation34 Opps.

I think it would be a good challenge to design and build my own teardrop to take on trips farther away. It would be much better in gas mileage but then again I cannot complain I got 19 miles to the gallon on the way home pulling my camper. : )

Ya the college group the ones next to me where very interesting I must say. I don't think they slept much of any.
I know that everyone in the group could hear that group from a distance. Just be lucky you were not next to me like I was. : ) Well maybe with there massive bon fire that might of been the reason why it was so comfy inside my camper because the heat from there fire was heating the area around them. : )

Terry and Julie were great neighbors I hope to meet them again really soon. Well everyone I would like to meet again very soon, everyone was super nice.

I did cook but with all the events of Pot luck and breakfast on Sunday I didnt have to cook to much. But if you ever see me out camping I am cooking away, I enjoy cooking very much.
But I did make a yummy breakfast on Saturday morning and dinner on Friday night.
