Itinerary 9th Annual Camp-inn Camp-outt

Thank - You Kathy and Bob

I met up with Bob and Kathy at Council Grounds and were more than gracious to show me their 550. I now know I will have to look at the 560 for sure, as the 550 my feet hit the bottom and my head hits the headboard.

This was out first (and definitely not last) CICO experience. Jim says it was a lot of fun, but Jim isn't too big on adjectives. (Jim says I do most of the talking. He wasn't too clear on the meaning of this, but that's Jim all over.) I say it was one of the more memorable experiences of our life together. I mean, how many couples could travel 9,324 miles in 32 days and avoid eviscerating each other...other that Kathy and Bob, that is? Yes, I'd say it was a bit more than "fun".

While I think of a few well chosen descriptive terms, Jim wants to add some heart felt thanks:

To Betsey and Craig, Cary and all those who worked so hard to bring this to be (Tina was dicing veggies and ham for days), many, many thanks for a wonderful gathering...and boiled omelets, who knew?!

To Jenn and Kathy for rescuing us at the grocery store (story to follow).

To Bob and his lounge chair for teaching us how to really relax.

To George for his breakfast bombs in the middle of the day. Our arteries will never be the same and maybe that's a good thing.

And to Ben who kept us in a constant state of "AAAaawwwwww".

There are so many wonderful people, memories and joys shared, many of which have already been mentioned by others, that they cannot be fully expressed here.

Guess I'll just have to write a story.

Later - I'm still pooped.

Camp On,

Sue and Jim (says)

Nice to hear that "all" are home safe & sound all tucked in their homes....wish we were out camping yet but will be raining all weekend here. Hopefully 1 more good weekend to get out before packing/winterizing the trailer.

Hello to All!

It's been a couple of weeks since the CI CO and every day I still think about that cute 550 I rented. I certainly had a wonderful time. Craig, Betsy and Cary really throw a great party!!!

Special thanks to Jenn and Bob & Kathy for welcoming me into the group and helping me set up the TD and side tent and sharing their knowledge; Jean W. for sharing her Northern Breeze; George for sharing his DO cooking expertise and everyone else to gave me advice and help.

I am going to revise my retirement plans to include a Camp Inn TD. What better way to see all those places I've flown over all these past years!

I hope to see all of you again at the 2013 CI CO. I will probably not have my own CI yet, but maybe I can rent the 560!!!

Happy trails to all until we meet again!!!

Peg, it was good meeting you. Hope all goes well with your retirement plans including a Camp Inn. We will soon have to put ours to bed for the winter. A little envious of those who live in warmer climates but love the north.

I also want to add my thanks and gratitude to those who worked so hard to make CICO such a wonderful experience! Betsey - I can not imagine how many hours it must take to prepare everything! I'm sure you have figured out how to streamline some things over the years, but there clearly is a LOT of time going into this event!

I know that so many others work on this event as well - Tina, Craig and so many others that I'm not even aware.

I had a great time! I will write a separate post with more of my thoughts about the event and my experience renting the 560, but suffice it to say that my initial positive impressions gained from this forum about BOTH Camp Inn trailers AND the Camp Inn community were totally reinforced by my "actual" experience.

Going to the CampInn factory to pick up my rental and meet Cary, Marty and others almost felt like some sort of pilgrimage!

More to follow...

Peg - it was so good meeting you and being able to pass along the help we've received from those more experienced than us. I told family and friends in our last email from our trip that it felt like a high school reunion without the anxiety.

Rick - looking forward to your story. We enjoyed spending time with you.

Kathy
