New forum new name - Previously Mr Ed
1972 was the last time I was in Oregon - Washington, Boy I need to get back to Crater Lake still looks as awesome as I remember it. (Disclaimer we were in Idaho in the late 90's and took a Snake river boat ride Hells Canyon and did eat lunch on the other side of the river in Oregon)

Thanks. It's our 1st time here and we're loving it. Camping where the Deschutes empties into the Columbia - just gorgeous.

Heheh, and did the Trains start "Talking" to each other at .....
3:00 AM in the morning...??
It's like they're having a conversation, 2 toots, responded by 4 toots.. only these "Toots" are Air Blasters of the 1st order... and at 3am... a little breezy too..

Frank, you know it well - the only downside of the campground, those dam*ed trains. The wind blows steadily, and keeps things comfortable. Highs were about 90...
We're Midway between Couer d'Alene and Spokane now, going to visit friends tomorrow in Spokane, and then to North Cascades NP for a few days.

What? you just cross the street from d'Alene to Spokane, heheh, just joking...

I'm down in Sumpter, just West of Baker City heading over to Mackay, ID for a Rally after the 4th weekend. Just have to find a place that's not RSVP'd.... seems like the FCFS (First Come, First Served) places are becoming a thing of the past... so it would seem, I HATE Summers.. heheh,

Hava good trip...

Our friends in Spokane knew of this place - a nice County Park on a lake with some good hiking trails.
You're right about fcfs going by the wayside, very tough finding them in great numbers any more.

Hwy 12 up to Packwood is beautiful. Have you seen elk? Often they are roaming about in the town of Packwood.

We haven't, but our daughter, son-in-law , & Max saw a few just sauntering along the middle of 12 right in 'downtown' Packwood yesterday. Rainier is not out today, but we know it's there...
