Announcement Another One....

I've been a spectator of this forum for awhile now, but am about to become more active as we've ordered our 550 and are joining the club. Woo Hoo! Delivery will be next summer. I've been researching teardrops for a couple of years and last year decided a Camp Inn was the one for us. The last year has been filled with discussions of which model and options will suit us best. As you can tell I'm not known for impulse purchases. Didn't even get married until I was 37 but I know I made the right choice there.
This last summer we were camping at San Simeon, CA and met Thumper & Bambi. They showed me their 550 and were the typical enthusiastic owners. I had already planned on buying a CI at that point, but they kept trying to sell me on it. They even gave us a brochure. They were surprised at how much I already knew about CI's. I went back to our campsite, grabbed my family and took them back to T&B's to show them our camping future. T&B gave my family the full tour, even letting Beth try out the bed because she was concerned about feeling claustrophobic. She loves it! It was good to see one in person and to talk to an owner to get a better feel for what we're getting into.
We can't wait to head back to Necedah to pick it up! We've been tent campers for years and are really looking forward to moving up and getting off the ground.
Now we just have to come up with a name....and wait.

Congrats Greg and Beth, and welcome to the forum! What options have you decided on so far?

Greg and Beth,

Nice to see you here.

Say, you wouldn't happen to have the coupon that was in that brochure would you? Two reasons, one you can redeem that coupon with your order (I don't show a coupon redeemed on it right now). And two, it would show me who Thumper and Bambi are. I suspect I know who but just gotta know.

Cary

Thanks Ken.

Here's our option list:
Electric brakes
SUV tire pkg.
TV
AGM battery upgrade
Solar controller/connection
Battery isolator
Rear bumper
Alacan cover
Door screens
Galley wind screens
Spare tire
Gas&water ext. hoses
2 beverage holders

And we'll probably be adding the upgrades between now & delivery

Sounds like you've got the 'necessities' covered there. We bought ours used, so didn't have the option of adding things as the trailer was making it's way through the factory - which is good because I know we'd not have been able to resist upgrading along the way.
We have added several options since buying ours, though, including the door screens, rear bumber, and the Alcan cover.
Your timing seems to be about perfect, hopefully getting delivery just in time for next season's camping.

Cary,

What's the deal with the coupon? When Lini showed us her 560 she didn't have any brochures left... just curious as to what the coupon could have been redeemed for.

Greg and Beth,

Congratulations and welcome. Our 550 is in the home stretch, should be done by Christmas with a mid January delivery... too cold to go to Necedah this time of year. We'll take it back in September for the Camp-Inn Camp-Out.

Greg,

I don't need the coupon physically. Just shoot me a email with the item (one of the three listed) you wish to have on your order and give me the key code at the bottom. The key code is important because it tells me who Thumper and Bambi are so they get proper credit for it.

AJ,

Like I mentioned to Greg, I don't physically need the coupon. This is why they are important though, I plumb forgot to credit Lini for your visit because there wasn't a coupon to remind me. Shoot me a email and I will list out the items you can pick from so we can get you and Lini both credit for that.

Cary,

You'll probably see the email before you see this thread when you hit the office tomorrow or should I say today. Anyway, I'm sending the reminder.

I thought long an hard about the hand brake. Makes a lot of sense if you are solo most of the time. For me I just didn't like the placement so I passed. But everyone will have a different set of circumstances. It is a good idea and does the job.

Well, hello Greg and Beth.

You're going to LOVE that 550! Jim and I just picked ours up this October and it has been a total blast. You are also going to find this forum informative and tons of fun-especially if you're chatty. So welcome and let us know what you decide to name your CI.

You have to name it, you know. It's a must and lots of fun. We'll all be more than happy to help (or hinder) with that.
