I liked Bonnie Raitt before seeing her in concert last night - even own 1 of her CD's. After experiencing her live, I have to consider her one of the best vocalists I've ever seen - she is incredible! So now I'm a huge fan.

Al, funny you should say that. I had my camera in my hand, under my jacket, when we walked in. They told EVERYONE - 'no cell phones, no photography' as they entered. Well, I couldn't very well take the shuttle back to the parking garage...
Then, at EVERY door into the theater there was a big sign - 'NO PHOTOGRAPHY'. An announcement was made that there were 'enough Youtube videos already', and to please not take more. And that 'camera screens lit up all over could be distracting to others'.
Well, I wasn't taking videos, and my camera's screen was set to 'off'. So...
And just to be sure, I waited until they came out for their encore before taking any pics - so if I got kicked out, I'd only miss a song or two.
I've never seen such a strict display regarding this before. Usually, once the concerts get started, there is a good amount of picture snapping going on without much concern by the staff.

I heard about the concert just 2 days before, so no chance for primo seats...
agreed that the no video/photo policy was extreme - most extreme I've encountered in the new age (now that mobile phones are recording devices)
but I am glad they do it, sort of - I hate seeing people's phone screens when I am watching a show. I don't mind if a screen is up for a few seconds, but people who record for long periods of time should be drawn and quartered.
It's worse than the people who sing along. Yeah, I paid $75 to hear YOU sing, not Bonnie.....
If the artist encourages a sing-along, fine. Otherwise, ZIP IT.
