Bug & tar remover

So what is the best way to get bugs and tat off your Camp Inn after a long summer trip?

Jim

I go to the car washes with the hand held power wash. Unfortunately the only one on my side of town recently closed. If you do scrub, be sure to follow the grain of the aluminum brushing.

Diesel fuel, kerosene, or mineral spirits (the least smelly) all work well for tar.
Bugs come off best if soaked awhile. They are usually on the front, so if you can soak some old towels/rags and lay them over the buggy area for awhile to keep them wet, and soften them up, they'll come off with just a hose end sprayer, a little car wash soap, and minimal elbow grease, and as handben said rub/brush with the aluminum's grain.

Hi Matthew,
Not sure if you are asking about the baby shampoo, and if it will make your teardrop go away, or the tar remover,
Gypsy says the baby shampoo works well for Love Bugs, but we don't have those here so I was scared to try it on mine;)
I soak the bugs with some old wet towels if they are baked on, and then they can be washed off with a hose end sprayer.
For tar I usually use mineral spirits as noted in my earlier response.
If I didn't answer your question, maybe you can be more specific in your question.
Thanks!

Any new ideas on tar removal for fenders and something for tar spots on aluminum?
I went ahead and bought some commercial Bug and Tar Remover and tried it in a hidden spot and there seemed to be no problem.

I realize there are other ways to do it. This is just how I chose to solve this issue.
