Customized magnetic spice rack

Found this spice rack at Costco for around $20.

the cans have magnets on the bottom, and shaker holes on the side of the removable see-thru caps.

Then customized it to fit our galley.

Shined up a piece of galvanized steel for the back, added wood stops to insure that the cans won't slide while in transit. We hope it works, haven't tried it on the road yet.

This is a great idea! I know this is a old post but how did these end up working out for you?

Spice rack has been removed and Jim has built partitions in that top area. A much better use of the space, for us. We found that spices, and the high temperatures and humidity that can occur in a closed up galley that has been sitting in the sun do not mix well. Now we just carry small containers of the particular spices we need for the menu of each outing.
I also sliced my finger, bad enough to require a couple of stitches, on one of those magnetic containers, when I was washing it. The whole kit and caboodle was returned to Costco, thanks to their great satisfaction guaranteed return policy!
