Announcement Down Payment Sent!

One week and we will be leaving the nest! I am so happy! Of course the TV is in the shop this week getting prepped. Seems it wanted some of my money also

Well, Gerry and I picked up Serenity from the nest yesterday, spent the night at Governor Dodge SP and are back home in Indy tonight. Wonderful day spent at Camp INN with Cary, Craig, Marty and everyone else up there. What wonderful people... This closes the first chapter on our camping adventures. G'night.
 
Serenity..Nice! If you have River Tam in your trunk, please let me borrow her for a bit. Keep the magazine salesmen away for sure.

We love Governor Dodge SP. Stayed there on the maiden voyage of Spamalot.

OK, I'll bite...what's the firefly deal? Did I miss an option?
And of course congrats to "newbie" schluns (just when does the newbie moniker go away? Seems like the first outing ought to do it). Best of luck with your new CI and I can't wait to join all of you on the road.

It is an option only available on DVD. Firefly is a short lived but exceptionally good SCI-FI show. Starring Nathan Fillion, it is cowboys in outer space. Imaginative, original, well written and very well acted with one of the liveliest group of characters I've seen in a long time. Serenity is the name of the spaceship. It is also the title of a full length feature film based on the show which came out a year or so ago (and that was super good too, I might add).

I wish there was a Firefly option for the CI. Darn sure I'd get it.

Sue, thanks! I can always count on our forum to provide info on any subject. I guess I missed that series. Sounds like I might have enjoyed it. After all, I liked Space Cowboys!
Perhaps the Dolby Time Capsule is as close as you'll get to Serenity.

Both the series and the movie are well worth buying. Joss Whedon is the writer/director. Known for Buffy the series, Angel, Doll House and a little movie out right now called The Avengers...

For only being a single season, the characters come together well and play of each other from the first episode. Fox being what they are killed it from the beginning by playing the episodes out of order, and giving it the worst time slots.
 
Congrats! How'd you like Gov Dodge SP? Every time we've tried to stay there, they have been booked! Must be a good spot. Enjoy that camper.
 
Gov Dodge SP was nice. We stayed in site 303, a short walk to the BR. Showers were fairly clean. We booked 3weeks in advance, wish we could have stayed more than one night as it is a pretty park. As it was we set up, ate, went to bed, got up ate , left. I think we will revisit sometime, but this was a short trip.

Sue, guess what? I found Firefly on Netflix and watched the first episode last night. It was great, and Carol was OK with it since it starred a much younger Castle! Thanks for the tip.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the part about Nathan Fillion. So now when you go back to first season's Halloween episode, when Castle is dressed in brown pants,white shirt, holster and leather trench. Then his daughter says "youwear that every year", to which Castle responds "I haven't worn this for 5years". I am surea lotof people nevergot that, I about died. Sealed the deal for me being a Castle fan....
