Easy way to make the bed

We remake the bed from scratch twice a year (summer and winter sheets) and it's always a big pain. We just figured out a MUCH easier way. Take out the mattress and put it in your living room. Make the entire bed using safety pins on each layer to hold it in place. Then fold the bed in half and carry it out and slide it in through the door. Presto! Good to go for another 6 months!

6 months without cleaning em???????????? Not even I could go THAT long in the ole sack without a refresher.

True enough, guys. I think it has been 6 months since the last time I changed them - but, of course, Lena has done it many times in between. :)

I've always sewn ours together...even the ones at home...a lot easier to make the bed. We have an extra set of sheets & pillow cases in the tear. Change 'em out every week or the morning of the day we will be arriving home, whichever comes first. Then they are ready for another week or the next trip.

Having an extra set along is also handy if the bedding gets wet due to leaving the sunroof open & rain. ;)

We appreciated the tip of a queen fitted and a full size flat sheet, sewn together at the bottom. Even though they are made for deeper mattresses, they seem to be holding tight. For our comforter, we bought a duvet cover (we were looking for a full/queen, but found a great king size on sale), and then cut and sewed so that it was just slightly bigger than the top of the mattress. Then, slip a full/queen comforter inside, and it is slightly thicker than planned, but no extras at the side. And a bonus of getting the king size meant I had fabric leftover to make matching pillow cases. Worked just great on our trips. Just a shake and the bed is made.

Yah, that's what I use and find it's perfect.
Queen fitted on bottom,
Queen duvet with 650 or 700 Down stuffed inside. Works perfectly, not too hot and never too cold.. easy to take care of...
