Electric brake noise

When I plugged in the Crab Pot to the tv receptacle tonight (we're supposed to leave for Alaska tomorrow) one of the brake pads started making a beeping noise. The only way to stop it was to unplug the line from the Honda. Any ideas why this is happening and is it ok to drive?

Got it. we are visiting in NC for a couple of days and I'll go through the procedure he suggested. Once I unplugged the controller no more noise but that's not really the fix. We were going to stop by CI anyway on our way West so maybe we can have it looked at then. See you in a couple of weeks and thanks for the quick response.
