We camped here for a night on our way back from New Mexico. Not far from I-40 and it is on the Foss Reservoir. Had Site 1. Not a great site for summer as there was little shade, but we there late enough in the day it was not a big deal for us. Really nice bathroom and shower facilities. Everything was pretty new. Individual bathrooms that locked so you had privacy. Same with the showers, you lock the door when you go inside. Two hooks on the wall to hang stuff. 4 toilet rooms and 4 shower rooms in the Buffalo Bend area where we were camping. Some of the other sites had a lot of shade if you were going to be there longer.
Site itself was gravel. Our site #1 had a covered picnic table. The sites that had more trees did not have a cover over the table. Grill, fire ring. Well maintained place.
As you approach the park from I-40, you will get to the office. Drive past it and over the dam for the reservoir. After the dam, you will see signs directing you to the Buffalo Bend loop.
