Hi teardroppers it's very nice to meet you all. My husband and I are Airstreamers looking to add a teardrop to our fleet. We toured the country with our 3 kids and collie dog in our 1966 Airstream Overlander in 2009 when he transitioned out of the Navy to civilian life. After we settled in upstate NY, we camped about once a year with the Airstream mostly in New England. We haven't taken the Airstream out in quite a few years (long story but I gave away our tow vehicle to a friend in need). Now that we are empty nesters, we'd like a teardrop which we can use with less fuss and bother and which I could potentially take out myself when he's not available. I've been scouring this forum for a while, but was unable to join because of issues with this forum and my browser. Not sure yet whether we'll keep the Airstream or set it up for Air BnB "glamping." Hoping to join the ranks of the owners soon!

Howdie! Did you order already, or are you still thinking about it? Get your order in today if you want it for spring camping --- the waiting list is real!!! I ordered mine in the spring, and I am expecting delivery in the next 30 days or so...

For what it is worth, this is my second camp inn --- we had one built in 2012, and in 2015 sold it thinking we were going to "upgrade" to something bigger. Here we are in '21. We "Started" with a 14 foot long 560, "upgraded" to a Fleetwood Bounder, then REALLY upgrading to what we "started" with.

"Started" becuase we also owned a vintage Serro Scotty in there as well before we discovered Camp Inn....

We are not too far from you if you want to take a look at a 560. I am getting ready to put it away for the winter so let me know if you want a look. We are about half way between Binghamton, NY and Scranton, PA. I pass near Horseheads a few times a year, sometimes with our trailer. I am on a search and rescue team based in Binghamton and I have a teammate who lives in Watkins Glen so I try to take our trailer when they host training on there property.

We're looking at buying a used one. That's funny that you're going back to Camp-Inn. That's like getting divorced and then re-marrying your ex. :-)

We store it in a storage facility not far from the house so you can come anytime, but once in storage we will need flashlights to look at it or I can pull it out. I remove the battery so the inside lights will not be operational but you can lay on the bed and I can setup the kitchen and so you can get a feel for it. We are about a two hour drive from you and I work from home so we are around most of the time. I am retiring soon so hopefully we will be around less come spring!

We upgraded from a '12 Ultra 560 to a Grand Design 2800BH. We would stop and watch it fall apart in slow-motion for the 18 months we owned it...most of that time was either in the Warranty shop or winterized. Then the Fleetwood bounder - becuase we were going to semi-full time.

Back to where we started --- NEVER to go down that road of stupid again.

One word of advise....be careful of what yo load -- "full bays" is the entry drug to "something with more storage" to carry stuff you probably don't need anyway.
