Hello from South Carolina

My wife and I are getting closer to making our minds up concerning the 550 Ultra SUV model. The forum here has been tremendous in making our decision, especially with the photo's of current models and those that are in production. Just wanted to say hello and I'll post some questions later concerning this model.

Thanks George. I grew up not far from Smithville in Columbia. Have family there and in Murfreesboro that I visit. Probably will be that way soon. I've been in email contact w/ Cary a good bit and he's been great with information as has the forum. My main question is the bedding, trying to get a feel for how it will feel sleeping on. I've searched here and read about the memory foams folks are using.

I use and will use a queen mattress pad, queen size sheets and a quilt. Probably will add memory foam also.

The Camp Inn mattress is firm. It's ok, certainly not like the home mattress. Much better then the ground. I have certainly slept on worse mattresses in hotels.

Another thing, mattress comfort is porportonate to the amount of cocktails consumed.

The ad said that they had replaced the standard ci mattress with a full size futon. Are you going to go back to the ci mattress?

If not, it would be great to get feedback on the futon once you have had a chance to experience it.
 
The futon mattress is slightly smaller then the CI mattress. Time will lead to a decision.
 
We use a queen sized futon (inner spring)mattress that we got at IKEA. We then added 2 inches of memory foam. It's fantastic! The whole lot cost us under $350.

We also chose the 550 based on looks. When we picked it up, we saw a 560 for the 1st time. If you can get over the looks, the interior of the 560 is very cool. After that glance, I have never given it a second thought.

Deb, thanks for the feedback. I was thinking about doing this when I get my 560. I hadn't thought about looking at IKEA but now I will.
 
Welcome to the forum Jason. We have had our 550 Ultra SUV since June of '09 and are loving it.
This is the place for getting questions answered and suggestions for what trailer options to include, set-ups, etc.
And you won't find a better group of people than those at CampInn - their product support & customer service is fantastic.
