Just registered here, have had a camp inn for about 4 years now. It has been across the US and up and down the Pacific coast.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Has anyone done any Camp Inn'ing in Arizona in the winter? I've found lots of big motor home parks that rent gated spaces for about 350 a month. The price is OK but not sure how a little Camp Inn would fit in there - many specify no tents.

Most of my camping has been done in National and State parks.

On a completely different note - love the built in leveling jacks on my Camp Inn - I've used them to remove a wheel to safeguard the unit from being stolen when I had to leave it parked in the odd "iffy" situation.

Now the wheel removal sounds good for security but if I were in a 'thieving' mood and really coveted the trailer I'd bring my own cheap wheel. :crazy: Check out the discussion by Bear on his 7 locks that he uses. Probably easier than removing the wheel.
 
Yes removing a wheel won't stop a determined thief who has staked out your trailer - but it is effective at deterring a spur of the moment theft.
 
Sorry this may be too late to help.... We live in AZ (Phoenix area), and I can see why coming here during the winter would be a great escape for some. I know, not firsthand but from driving by them, the large RV lots you spoke of. Different strokes for different folks, but they aren't my speed. Doesn't sound like yours either if you frequent national and state parks generally. What I would recommend is "dispersed camping" on fire roads. There are some (minimal) stipulations (e.g. you have to be 1/4 mile from any trailheads, etc...). Great way to go. FREE way to go.
And as you may well know, parts of AZ do have relatively intense winters, so be mindful of that.
