Hi-Lo Mirror Hilo Mirror

I asked that the mirror not be installed because I thought I wanted it on the right side because of the table being in front of the sink. They installed it on the left side above the sink and since I got the table extension it works fine there. without the table extension I don't think the mirror would be very useful to me on the left side.
 
When you moved it to the other side did you have trouble closing the hatch? Did you put it in the same position but on the opposite side?
