Morning Cup Of Coffee And Weather

Wildfires in here South Carolina. Two of them in the mountains along the NC border. One is near Table Rock State Park is around 2200+ acres and the other is a little west of there and is around 900 acres. A lot of down trees on the ground from Hurricane Helene is not helping. Evacuations into 2 SC counties and one neighboring one NC. 40 miles from us so no danger from us, but air quality is not great.
Stay safe down there!

We leave for home tomorrow and will arrive either late Sunday or early Monday. We drop one person off south of Madison and might spend the night there if we get there too late.

Well, the back is feeling a lot better. Last Sunday I made the mistake of picking up a sock from the floor and have been effectively bedridden ever since. When I was standing, I couldn't stand straight --- I looked like a question mark. I realized that when I walked I had to look like my Dad in his last 2 year. I even had a similar gate to him. I am not sure if I can make the bed in the camper...I'm goin gto try that this afternoon.

It looks like I'm going to be back in the saddle - maybe have some photos to post. We'll see how things unfold. Mostly me. If things go well, I'll be in a new chapter of my life. Big enough change, it may be a completely new book. Alamy watermark remover
Glad to hear your back is feeling better! Recovering from something like that can be a journey, but it sounds like you're on the right track. Just like using an Alamy watermark remover to clean up an image, sometimes we need the right tools and time to get back to our best selves. Wishing you a smooth recovery!

Successful people make their own luck.

The best I have heard is that luck is when "opportunity meets preparation" -- I've bene preparing and am almost ready (I just need to take care of a few minor things) to start helping people --- that is what I am trying to keep my eye on. Zig Ziglar used to say "You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want."

I'm home safely after a long day of driving -- I left Texas on Thursday around noon and made it home by 4pm on Friday. I'm home a little over a week earlier than I initially planned -- I withdrew from one of my scheduled classes...a couple of reasons but mostly that the class did not focus on what I felt was important to be successful, rather focusing on details not relevant.

I got to train with some of the greatest people I've had the opportunity to be around in a long time. I am truly blessed that I was able to go. While everyone there were adult and many professionals before there were too many people for the focused training sessions --- so we were broken up into two groups. It was funny, just like in summer camp as kids, the two groups formed a friendly competition -- an "us" and "them" mentality. Both sneering at the other team, while still wishing their success.

What fun - up and coming here there is an update to the Xenforo forum software that is pending. It SHOULD be as simple as clicking a button but they strongly suggest (and I'd be a fool not too) making a backup just in case. I will be doing that sometime soon - I need to get my head above water. Hopefully this will take care of a few of the problems (like not being able to modify your avitar)

Camping season starts in 2 weeks. I can't wait.

Rain tonight and tomorrow, so hopefully these fires in the mountains of the Carolinas will be over. Winds shifted and we are no longer smelling smoke. Our house is probably 45 miles away from them.

We got pummeled last night. Fortunately at least for us, there was no damage. But there was some in the area. Oh, the joys of spring :D

There was a cold front that passed, it is much cooler that it was a couple days ago...which sucks since I have become somewhat acclimated to 80's in the past week or two. I am pondering hooking up and driving south but I have a ton of work to do. I can't tell you why, but I am craving Bucc-ees bbq. That is a sad commentary of the state of brisket in Indiana

I made it home about a half hour ago.
Looks like you are the only non-Russian poster today!
Glad you made it home safe & sound and before the next snow storm hits. We're winding down our time here, and will be heading back to MN in a little over a week. Hopefully the snow from the storm coming over the next couple days will be trickling into the lake by then.

SOMEONE is not as strict as old Kenny about watching new member sign up requests. I may start leaving the cleanup duties...

Who made it through? I havn't seen a valid application in a long, long time. The number from .ru is crazy. What is even worse is the emails that get sent to via the "Contact us"link on the bottom of the pages...

EDIT: I just deleted a bunch of posts...hopefully I got 'em all. See any report it.

Yes...the weather does change rapidly around here....hopefully warmer, and drier SOON! I have my first trip planned in 2 weeks! Just a local run to Brown County ...
I’ve been in Indiana before but this was the first for the teapot.
