I'm excited, but also nervous... you see, I only have 3 weeks of vacation to take, and we're meeting my extended family for a week at an excellent
dude ranch.
We're scheduled to be at the ranch August 1-7, and I've got the week before and after off from work and unable at this point to move it much.
Thus, I'd hate to be into my time off and waiting for the trailer to yet arrive. I'm hopeful it get get here a weekend or so before my off time so we can take it for a short outing and check on the provisioning.
I knew this would be tight when I placed the order. So far, the camp-inn folks have been pretty precisely to their word on their timing, but the big variable is getting the truck scheduled, picking up, and getting it out here on time. Driving from Oregon to Wisconsin and then back to Antonito, CO in the one week I have off before I need to be there is a more massive roadtrip than I want to take with a 7 year old and a 2 year old.
Right now, I'm hoping they've got a week or less of work left on the thing and can be starting to make scheduling calls this week or next at the latest. I've already paid them in full well before completion so that waiting for the trailer to be paid would not be an impediment to delivery scheduling. I didn't think I'd ever trust anyone I didn't know that well that much, but with all I've heard of their reputation here and elsewhere, it seemed a reasonable risk in order to meet my tight schedule.
To be fair, Cary was very much up front that he could make no guarantees about the timing and delivery. However, he's also been very willing to work with it and do his best.
Likely I'm being paranoid and there really is enough of a cushion in the timing, but until I see it start to come together, I remain a nervous nelly.
