Necedah Bound

And we are camping. Made it to Cumberland Gap National Historic Site & are set up now for 2 nights here. Site is a little sloped, but other than that we are good. (See pic of table & I’m 6’0 ft for reference). ;) Drive was uneventful with no delays for either construction area near Asheville, NC. This place is beautiful.

Tomorrow, we are doing a cave tour here in the park & Mary Ellen will have a birthday. She will be able to buy the Senior Pass for the Federal Agencies & get the cave tour at a discount.

Toured Gap Cave in the park this morning. Nice tour & 54 inside the cave. Went over to the Visitors Center for a program on Dulcimers & up to Pinnacle Overlook.

Thinking about taking my hammock to cave entrance to let the cool air from the cave blow across me this afternoon.

Salamander in the cave.

Quick 2 nights at Kentucky Horse Park. Mainly, here because it’s near our daughter who lives in Lexington. Her job is near the campground. Had a pretty severe thunderstorm earlier today with a lot of tree limbs down.

Tomorrow, we are making the leap from here to Illini State Park Marseilles, IL for one night & then we’ll get to Necedah on Sunday.

Made it to Illini State Park for the night. Picked the wrong loop:( here. More on that later. Glad to get a break from the heat/humidity finally.

Tomorrow we make the trek from here to the Mother Ship in Necedah. Looking forward to seeing the new sign at Camp Inn.

We stayed at Perot State park too. Lots of great bicycling in the area.

We were just getting interested in CampInn at the time and planned to stop at the showroom/factory on the way home.

Coincidentally a CampInn owner was camped there and we got a tour of her camper, as well as a coupon!

I wish had my bike there and I remembered you had said it was good cyling area. With me being the only cyclist, it's kind of hard to justify taking the bikes since she would be on her own, while I'm out riding.
