Thanks Cary,
Which size do you recommend for the galley area?

Van,

For the BougeRV fridges there are several that should fit. We know the 23qt and 30qt CR series fit. The CRPRO30qt with the battery compartment should also fit. The E-Series 42qt should fit in the galley with the handles removed. I don't see any dual zone ones that fit in the camper's galley.

One thought we are having is that a good percentage of our customers actually don't carry the fridge in the galley, that makes our galley tote accessory very popular. The logic is the fridge runs cooler and more efficiently in the tow vehicle where the cab is climate controlled when driving. For that reason many of our customers may chose to go with one of the larger models for larger capacity and/or the dual zone feature.

w00t!!!!!

Love that weater heater option --- I seriously though this was a prank post when I saw this, much like the Maytag washer and dryer option. I thought perhaps a post about 3 weeks early :)

Nothing beats a hot wash up after a long day out in the country...
solar bag showers or the RoadShower on s rack are great on sunny days but cool off fast when the sun goes down in the SWUS high desert, and not much good in the cool cloudy rainforest of the PNW.

So, this is The Way.

Congrats on becoming a Bouge dealer- read good reviews on their gear.

Ok now about that hidden hot tub option...

I bought a BougeRV 23 qt fridge during the Black Friday holiday season last year. While my Dometic still works I hate how heavy it is and I tend to always just leave it in the galley all the time due to the inconvenience of moving it. (Getting old sucks.) I haven’t figured out the best way to carry the Bouge but I’d like to try and just leave the Dometic at home from now on.

Cary, is there any reason the smaller Bouge couldn’t ride in the galley with towels around the bottom to keep it from shifting while driving?

Thanks.

Hi,

I was thinking of doing just this, keeping the fridge in the Jeep while driving. I looked in the store but do not see the "galley tote accessory" that you speak of, thinking that something should be there while traveling if the fridge is not.

Also going to get the water heater. I have watched a bunch of videos on that exact product recently but they always showed using a water bucket as the source. Excited that it can be connected directly to the camper.

Thanks in advance.

John,

The 23qt does carry nice in the galley. Several customers already doing this, one of them (Linda D) I talk to often about this which is why we know how well this unit works. Linda does normally carry hers in the back seat of her car but has carried in the galley with a couple towels "nesting" it in place like you suggested.

You are right, the smaller fridge is pretty ideal for single person travel. And, one just can't pass up the prices on that model. For sure that will be one of our standard offerings, that and the taller 30qt.

Doug,

Yes, the galley tote is not on the online store due to some shipping concerns with it. Just shoot us an email and we can figure out a shipping plan to make sure the UPS driver is not going to throw it over a fence or something dumb like that.

Yes, all of these portable water heaters are intended to work with a small included pump and a bucket. Over the years the water heaters we have offered with our campers (this is the third) we have created a water connection to allow it to connect to the water outlet of the camper, the main reason for the outside water outlet on the camper is actually for these water heaters. The first two heaters we offered where Coleman brand units and with the current state of the Coleman company we have been left without a supplier of these for some time now, hence the BougeRV dealership.

Back seat? What's that? LoL! I have the seats folded down to carry everything else in the back. It would also be a bit more problematic for me to run the fridge 24/7 in the car when traveling a few days to get to my destination or even after arriving.

Having said that, I also, last year, purchased a couple of smaller EcoFlow power stations just for the sake of more flexibility of charging smaller items including the fridge. Last fall I ran into a real problem getting enough sun to my roof top solar in Yellowstone. The reality is that my fridge is the biggest drain on my battery. When panic started setting in I realized my small Jackery would actually fit in the galley with the hatch closed and run the fridge. I only put it in there at night but that was enough to lighten the load on the house battery. The Jackery would provide 2 nights of power before needing charging and it would charge pretty easy by plugging it into the car during the day while traversing the park.

We'll see how it all goes this year as I already have another long spring trip booked.

John,
And of course the smaller 23qt fridge will draw less power and hence more run time between sunny days.

You know, you would think that but I'm not so sure. I've run some very informal tests on the 23qt at home overnight and I'm not so sure there's much if any noticeable difference in the amount of draw it uses vs my Dometic. Now FWIW, the Dometic "seems" to be a heavier/thicker wall of insulation than the Bouge. But I can't say that for a fact. The Dometic also has the German made compressor vs the Chinese made compressor in the Bouge. So, if one were more efficient I would guess it to be the Dometic but again, who know for sure.

Regardless of all that the price makes the Bouge well worth going down that road.
