Opening another can of worms!!!

Thanks for the post. I have heard of this b4. I will be honest, I have not tried the flax seed oil method.
It would be interesting to try.
I also must admit I haven't given any of my materials a dose of 6 applications prior to use. The most I have used is 3. I have been very satisfied with the results. That being said, maybe with my limited experience, my expectations or bench mark for "seasoning" are too low. I will ponder on this.

Thanks for sharing this.

Definately not "another can of worms" If constructive information is brought forth, it ain;t a worm.

I have seen this method before, as well, but have not tried it.

Lots of different methods out there.

Everyone will choose what works best for them.

I have tried George's method with beeswax & love it! For me, it is what I will stick with...really easy, lasts long, smells nice, has a great feel to it, looks great & works great! Thanks George!

You are welcome Betsey.
I am very open to different ideas, when it comes to the cooking and dealings with cast iron.
If I have been cooking this way all my life, I would consider myself hardened to the processe, but since I am a "greenie" in this art, I will definately stop, look, and listen when some one is cooking with it. Just like with Camp Inns, or in my case camping in general, I am still learning. As well I will share what I have learned with anyone that is interested, or asks a question.
