47 national parks, huh? And I have visited 10 from that list. I think I just made a new retirement goal!

However, his list doesn't include some places I thought were national parks: The St. Louis Arch (actually called the Jefferson National Expansion Monument), Mt. Rushmore, the Old Post Office in Washington DC. Perhaps those are officially something else?

I agree that -- to do this justice -- you'd need more than two months. I don't want to run through so I can say I've visited; rather, I want to stay and experience the place! For example, I've been to Yellowstone twice and haven't done everything it offers.
