Fridge / Cooler Question On Cooler/refrigerator

according to my manual my dometic 35 if you have both 12v and 110 pluged in it will automaticly change to 110 when on shore power, thus letting your batteries charge normaly and go to 12v when you are off shore power. Joe B.

Is the Dometic/Waeco, model #CF-035AC110, at this site,http://www.defender.com, the fridge that will fit in the Raindrop?
I looks to be a good price, $489.99, with $20.00 shipping to me in Jersey.

That looks to me like the same old Dometic CF35, only thing I see different is it says Waeco instead of Dometic on the front. That's a great price! Defender is a good company, I've been dealing with them for years with 0 complaints. I'd go for it.

I am building my own teardrop and plan to use a chest type ac/dc fridge freezer in the galley. One I am considering is a TruckFridge TF41 which is 13 ¾"W x 17"H x 23"L. It sells for $499 plus shipping. It is manufactured by indel b.

We also are starting to look at a Dometic. This may have been gone through before.
With the galley hatch being such a tight fit, is there still be no problem with the fridge getting plenty of air to keep running efficiently and safely while traveling or just parked and having the hatch closed.
Any ideas on what size solar panel would be required to help keep the battery charged in the safe range if it was off shore power for say 2-3 days.
 
To answer your question with the hatch closed in hot weather like you get in the summer in the Southwest the frig will fault and shut down till it gets recycled. Recommend that the frig is place in the tow vehicle and run off the 12 volt system.

We had ours fault in September south of the Grand Canyon
