Rent a TD

Read a post or two that folks rented a 550 or 560 prior to purchasing one. Great idea to see if a TD is for you. But where can you rent one?

In Necedah, Wisconsin at the Camp Inn manufacturing plant. They have 2 or 3 for that purpose. In Sept. there will be a 3 day gathering of a bunch of us the 3rd weekend. If you think you'd like to join us now would be the time to reserve it cause they go fast. If you think you want a Camp Inn I wouldn't rent any other kind because if you rent an inferior product it might discourage you. The 560 we own is awesome and I'm sure the 550's are just as nice just no couch. We looked at other brands before getting this one and there is absolutely no comparison.

If you want to see one, call Cary and ask where the closest one to you is and you could go see it. That's what we did - made an appt. with the owners, drove 5 hrs. to their city, got a motel, spent the weekend playing and 3 hrs. in their 560 crawling all over it, visiting, sitting in it, dreaming and KNEW it was for us. Cried when I left cause I knew it would be a while before we could order one, but gone are those days!
 
Thank you for the quick response. We plan to visit with my sister in WI in September but we will be there from Sept 3rd to the 16th, too early for your gathering. Got to be back in Virginia the 17th for my daughters birthday, the weekend after that for my sons wedding, and the weekend after that for my other daughters wedding.
While in WI, we plan to camp for at least 7 days at Lake Petenwell at a very nice county park on the Eastern (?) side of the lake. Do some catfishing while we're there. Not sure how far that is from the factory in Necedah, but I don't think its that far, inside an hour drive maybe.
 
Just checked the map, the county park we camp at on Lake Petenwell is only about 15 miles or so from Necedah. A lot closer than I thought.

Hey Matt! Our 560's were crib buddies! We have #406 and probably sat right next to #404! How long have you had yours?

I believe I saw yours there. We went and picked it up in January. We did 2200 miles in 2.5 days. It was a quick trip but well worth it.

That is a really nice park! At the dam there is a lookout tower for the bald eagles...lots of them there.

Further down river, we hold the Camp-Inn Camp-Outt on Castle Rock Lake at Castle Rock County Park in Mauston, about 15 miles from the factory.

I found renting both the 550 and 560 useful to determine if I was interested in a teardrop and deciding between models. Renting was an excellent investment in the decision process. Even if you choose not to invest in a teardrop, renting is a good way to provide a brief introduction.
