Announcement "spamalot" Is On Her Way

Jim and Sue L.

Junior Ranger
We just received the link to our build page. Our 550 Classic (#466)is taking shape! Woo-Hoo!! We feel like a couple of six-year-olds hopping on mom and dad's bed at 4AM Christmas morning..

"Daddy, can we open our presents yet??!!?"

Jim and Sue

PS: Yes, we've named her: Spamalot...Run away, run away!

Cute name! Someone needs to name their's Tin Lizzie!

Be sure and put Spamalot on the Name that Drop forum!

Hey Linda,

I've been hunting all over this forum and can't find the "Name That Drop" site. Where is it? (Probably right in front of my eyes...)

Sue

Yep, you got it. Spamalot! A great place to be and the most fun you can have in a can (now I have that silly song and dance routine running around in my head).

Actually, I suggested Canalot, but Jim preferred the original. And when he agreed to add "run away, run away", I just knew we had found the right name for our CI.... Of course "Unladen Swallow", "French Knights" and "The Lupine Express"(now the name for our tow vehicle) were close runners-up.

Yes we are Monty Python fans.

Sue and Jim

"Your Lupines or your life!"

Just so everyone knows Craig and I have been unusually quite on this thread. Too easy to get sucked into Monty Python conversations for us. But, I just couldn't resist a Dennis Moore reference.

One of the interview questions for working at Camp-Inn is "what is the unladen airspeed of a swallow?". So, there really is a connection here.

And yes, now I too have that silly song running through my head. Damn it!

Ere the other side ye see....

Just got the second installment of photos from the nest. Whoo-Hoo! Things are looking up. Jim is delighted to see Spamalot has eyes now (front windows). Too bad she won't be ready to join in this year's "Camp-Inn Camp-Outt". Next year.....

And remember:

"Supreme executive power derives from a mandate of the masses. Not some farcical aquatic ceremony......"

Jim and Sue

"you cant expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you!"

"Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government."

Dang it, now you got me started.

" I mean, if I was to say I was the king of Persian just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!"

Yep, I think we named our CI just right to suit our somewhat bizarre and slightly warped personalities.

And we appear so normal on the exterior.......

Jim and Sue

Absolutely.

Every Halloween Jim says he's going as a homicidal maniac...they look like everyone else.

"Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! Now go away or I will taunt you a second time!"

Not you, of course.

Lord, I love this crowd! Can't wait to meet you guys face to face at some of the gatherings. This is going to be such a blast.

Originally, when Jim and I retired, we planned to buy a little cottage in a rural area....someplace with a bit of land around it. Just wanted to escape the big city environment and breath free. Unfortunately, two months after I hung up my spurs, the housing market dropped faster than a falcon on Thorazine. So much for the little country house with a few acres.

With that dream dead, we came up with a solution to our free air needs: a teardrop. Now that Spamalot is almost done, we have discovered that this will be far better than that little house. We can travel all over the continental US and Canada and get all the air we need while seeing parts of the world we might never get to on an average vacation. And, we can pack up and go whenever the fancy strikes. Touring an entire continent in exchange for a dream cottage....? Damn good trade, as we see it.

Can't wait to start living that new dream.
