So, we picked up 678 on Friday, and spent a couple of blissful nights in the Kettle Moraine State Forest in SE Wisconsin. Picked up a cute little park sticker as a keepsake of Toad Away's first nights out of the nest, which brings up a question I haven't seen addressed elsewhere.

Where do you put stickers such that they do the least amount of harm to the finish? On birch cabinetry? On aluminum? On stainless? Toad will probably be covered in stickers eventually, but I don't want to do any serious or permanent damage to the underlying surface.
 
Good question. Speaking of memento stickers, what about magnets? Is the stainless in the galley area the kind that a magnet will stick to?

Regarding galley & magnets; no, it's not the type which you can use magnets on. On the inside of the cabinet (on the right) there is a bit of available surface (it protects the back of the 120 and 12v plugs); and I do have a few magnetic things there--they stick well while traveling. Of course, if they happen to fall off it's no big deal. Nothing breakable anyway. I did briefly toy with the idea of placing a steel strip "somewhere" in the galley, just so I could have magnets; but after a year without magnets; I noticed I didn't need that kind of thing anyway. But everyone is different.

But really there is simply so much storage in the galley I simply haven't had a need to use the walls / magnets on the walls.

Stickers... well, personally I would never put stickers on anything, anywhere. I've never cared for any kind of bumper sticker, or stickers period. So I'm not exactly an unbiased opinion on sticker placement. But... if I were to WANT to put stickers on something...how about--the curtains? either the side facing you (interior); or the side facing the window (for display). Otherwise, I'd probably work out some interesting method using 3M strips, the Velcro ones perhaps? 1 end on the back of the sticker (never take off the protective layer) and the other attached to wherever in the galley? that way you can remove or reorganize to your hearts content. I could see (in my mind's eye) using the 3m Velcro + whatever it is you want to display, and make groupings between the hatch ribs/ceiling when you have the hatch open?

But if your goal is that when you are in transit or gone from your site and you want people to see the stickers (i.e., hatch is closed), I'd try to rig something up for the back of the curtains--protected, but yet still visible. And if at some point in the future you find it annoying--it's curtains. Worst case is you make new ones (or buy new ones if you aren't handy with a sewing machine).)
 
I say put stickers anywhere you want. Don't worry about the finish. It's a camper not a museum objet d'art.

I don't do stickers, but I collect the walking stick medallions. I decided not to use the small nails that come with them, but use museum putty (did someone say it isn't a museum? Ha!). I use this one:

I have also used it to hang up art and some stainless steel strips which we hang pictures and post cards and certificates from.

When I get tired of something and want to take it off, it removes easily and doesn't mar the wood. You should see the glittery fish sticker art we just did and have hanging where the tv in some people's trailer it. It just adds a little something!

A little on the back of a sticker would work (without removing the protective bit). I will say, a little goes a long way with this stuff!

Don't know about a museum but my trailer is definately a objet d' art. Definition: an object of artistic worth or curiosity,especially a small object. Sounds exactly like a Camp Inn trailer to me.

We put stickers on a large rubbermaid "box" (container) that we use for storing wood and other fire-making stuff (charcoal, chimney, gas bbq_. The box sits out in our campsite, so the stickers are always visible and remind us of our trips.

But the stickers don't stick very well, so it's not perfect. Plus, many stickers don't do very well when exposed to sunlight. So.....

Do the different parks sell those clothing badges that you can sew on? I was thinking of sewing them to the quilt I am going to make for the trailer. Everytime you use it, a memory returns from all the places you have been!

Rather than stickers we sort of went with pins & patches. The patches are sown onto a blanket. The pins are either put on a cloth rectangle which is hung in front of the air unit or the vest of our bear. The cloth currently has 65 pins and the bear has about another 20 or so.

That's another great idea. When I went to Europe for a summer with a school group as a teenager, I brought charms in very city or country and then put them on a charm bracelet. Still have it and have many great memories from that trip. Even brushed up on my German too.
