Stove Won’t Slide Back In

We are out four days into a 15 day trip and we moved to a new campsite today. I made dinner and cleaned up, now the stove won’t slide back in. Everything looks fine. What should we do. We are in Bear country and can’t leave our dometic frig out. If we put it in the car, we can’t get power to it overnight. Do you have any thoughts?

Could you run an extension cord into your car to keep it running ? Most door seals have enough give to let a cord through with the door shut.
Also, I recently was in Oshkosh for a couple days with no power, and my Dometic had no power overnight, and the temp. only went up about 3-4 degrees by morning when my solar panel could power it up again. So unless you have things that need to stay frozen, it will keep it's cool pretty well overnight when it's cooler, if it's kept closed.
You might want to see if the gas hose is hung up on something or if something got behind the stove and is jammed. Good luck!

Look at the slide mechanism, there is something blocking or restricting the slide from going back in. Use a flashlight and look closely.

I agree that it sounds like something snuck in there and is blocking the slide. It doesn't take much.

If you do put it in the car, make sure to cover it so that it isn't recognizable as a cooler. Bears will break in at just the sight of a cooler.
