Teardrop tent for side door

I'm of the opinion that having one small camper and several tent/canopies for a variety of camping situations is still way better (and more space efficient and wallet friendly) than having several different sized campers/RV's for the same applications!

My current "Want" is to get a backup battery, but apparently one needs to cut off the inside battery before use.
Cary thought they might be able to put a Battery Wall kit together, like the new ones have with a 'master' switch to turn off/on for little one inside...
So in the well spoken words of Tim 'The Toolman' Allen - Arrghhh Arrrgh, Puff-puff... looking at a deep cell/gel? 100amp, LOL, good for 20 days at 100amps. TD takes 8 so should work Arrrgh Arrrgy..heheh

Frank, Mick has put one together. I will bring it to Mossyrock to show you what he has done (plus he can walk you through it). Not super happy about the large lever in my pantry, but Mick is worried I am going to run out of power for some reason. The battery pack is around 100lbs. I am more worried about lifting the thing. With our extra batteries and how stingy I am with power, I can go a week without charging. Mick and I just camp/pack very very differently. I suppose it goes back to that opposites thing. Luckily he married a Libra!

Ya, i caught a glimpse of the 3?? batteries adapted to the underside, way past my abilities...
My plan is just keep it in back of the truck, like an extra propane bottle, and bring it out if needed.
heating pad is the main reason, and certainly blenders although one has it's own, but I've recently "Teched Up", laptop etc so thought a back up would be the way to go.
If I understand Cary correctly, a big "IF" here, I can carry the battery, when needed, flip the internal Master battery switch to off and then just plug into the cigarette lighter, Voila... 100amps at 20 hrs... should last a long time using 8amps...
Anyway, that's the game plan. Earlier TD including mine, don't have the Battery Master switch and is at 32 somethings... ampS where the new TD apparently have the 72amps? with the master switch thus the back up plan...

Frank, we have 2 extra batteries (3 in total...Evan put 3 underneath for a total of 4, I believe). This extra battery pack is one I am supposed to keep in the back of the car on long journeys. It is as you describe - Mick installed a big toggle switch to turn off the master and I am to plug the unit in through the cigarette lighter. I can't remember if he put it on a dolly for me so I can wheel it around, but it is heavy.
Mick is pretty handy with this stuff. He has built a few of these now (for his car trailer and such).
