The "Dew Drop Inn" Chronicles

Saw a ghost heading east on SR 20, Whidbey Is. today," WOAH! what was that" Susan and I both said as it rolled on by...

...looked to be an original Cabin Car, very rare, only a handful known to exist...

#cabincars were manufactured in 1946 and 1947 only

...sure was a treat seeing it!

That is amazing! Love the tow vehicle, too. Strange and wonderful things turn up in Whidbey. Bet that thing rocked when the boys playing dog fight turned on the afterburners.

I was cruising through Port Townsend today on my trusty #bikefriday when I came across a homegrown son/daughter, that's right a teardrop travel trailer built right here in PT. ( not only are teardrops attracted to the Peninsula, they are born here! )

photo30.jpg

Jon the owner/ builder also owns a store in town called The Spice and Tea Exchange, it's next door to Waterfront Pizza. So next time you're on the Peninsula stop in at PT's "Spice and Tea" and support one of the local teardroppers, you'll be so glad you did.

You see some of the coolest campers up in your neck of the woods! I have two girlfriends from Texarkana, Arkansas area that rolled into Port Townsend this evening. They flew into Portland this past Monday and are road tripping their way up the Oregon & Washington coast this week. I'm so envious!

Whew! It's hot. Is it hot where all ya'll are? We are loving our most recent addition to Dizzy's gear, an Endless Breeze 12 volt fan from the folks at Fan-Tastic Vent to help beat the heat.

Did I mention that it's 12 volt, so you can plug it into any cig light outlet you may have available.

This fan proved essential when we were dry camping recently and the mercury was going through the roof.

We also have an AC adapter so we can plug it in when we have shore power...

photo.jpg

... this way we don't have to carry two fans with us, this one does it all and then some, this thing really pushes the air...

photo3.jpg

...keeping the Dizzy crew nice and cool, just the way we like it!

We got the fan and adapter from Amazon.

Spotted this patriotic teardropper on Whidbey Island today.

Forgive the poor quality of the picture, snapped it from a moving ferry.

...this last one is especially for you Sue.

Haha, cute video Deb and Kyle, I did not know this fan had a pet crate function, it didn't come with instruction but now I know what those swiveling hooks under the handle are for. Thanks for posting the address to the video. I can attest that this is also a great fan for dog's best friend.

Michael

Look what was in line for the Port Townsend to Whidbey Is. ferry today...

...aaahhh!...summer time on the Olympic Peninsula, where the teardrop travel trailers just keep rolling along...

Michael

Hey thanks, Michael. That gave us a good laugh!

Love to have the Woody to pull our TD.

Thanks again and remember to....

Camp on!
