1. Before a 4 hour drive to a desired campground, always call ahead to make
certain that they are open for the season.

2. Always have a back up plan.

3. It helps to have good cell phone reception, and a son with internet access
when you have neglected to have a back up plan.

4. Do not allow your husband to stock the pantry without your guidance.

5. When allowing husband to stock pantry without guidance, make sure he is
educated in proper upright storage of bottles of garlic flavored olive oil.

6. Never turn your back on your husband when he is cooking breakfast.

7. If you should turn your back on your husband when he is cooking
breakfast, make sure he has enough sense not to heat glass bottles of
Cracker Barrel maple syrup in a cast iron frying pan.

8. Have a great time in spite of all of the minor snags!

Say five Hail Marys, post three pictures, and go out twice in McNugit.

Seriously... at least you've still got your sense of humor. :)

Love the humor! I can't stop chuckling! Good humor hits home when people can relate. Good memories! Thanks for brightening the day!

Well guys, I am never allowed to forget a trip to the Steens Mountain here in Oregon. We took another couple to see this expanse and I assured them I had everything covered, just bring your sleeping bags. So morning rolls around and guess who forgot the coffee? Some fool also forgot the maple syrup. Breakfast was water and dry pancakes wrapped around bacon....yum!!
