Update Update On Our 560 Reception

After all my many past postings about how excited we are to be getting our Raindrop, I'm sure everyone was wondering what's going on since I haven't posted in a few days.

First, my internet is down, plus my computer is on the fritz, so that's why I'm sitting at our local library playing catchup for everyone. I have pictures to post, but the computers here won't take my SD card from my camera so it'll be a bit before they're posted.

But updating:

We got a call from the truck driver 3 days ago (on the 14th) and we met him at a Wal-Mart parking lot in San Antonio about 6:30 PM. He was absolutely wonderful and a real neat guy. He was as excited for us as we were to get it. I have pics of him too with a huge smile on his face! The Raindrop looked so tiny on that huge truck and I had to take a pic.

It took a while for him to back the minivan onto his truck and get it hooked on. He weighs 353 lbs. and couldn't get back into the van, so I climbed in and drove it off - delivered that baby like any mother would!

We took about an hr. to remove all the plastic packaging and it was very well protected from all the nastyness of the road. We took the driver to the Whataburger next to WalMart (best burgers anywhere and he loves'em!) and he caught us up on some things he saw and visited with Cary & Craig about.

He then made sure we were hooked up with lights, etc. showed us a few things we didn't know about the Raindrop and waved goodbye. We drove back into our campground next to our 5th wheel at about 10:30 PM.

Next morning we woke up, took it to the local car wash and hand washed it with a sponge and Dawn liquid (can't wash cars and such at the campground.) Chamois'd it off, drove it back to the campground, parked it in the shade and later tht day I personally applied 1 coat of Sharkhide protectant to it. To be honest I was extremely nervous about doing so, but after all of Dave's research and my talking to the owner of Sharkhide and getting specific instructions, I bit the bullet and did it. All I can say is WOW! This is one awesome product. It went on very quickly, dried quickly and it has been 2 days since doing it. You can tell 2 small places I missed and we will be washing it again, another chamois job, let it air dry then I personally will reapply a second coat, catching the places I missed.

I think we're going to be extremely happy we have done this because we don't want to work all the time on this trailer to keep it nice looking. I bought it to use and not hassle over. It looks beautiful!

When we drove it home down the freeway you could see people's heads turning. Coming into the campground during Spring Break with all the campers there, it really made a statement. The next morning people came riding their bikes by and you could tell they were drooling. We opened it up and said "It's Show & Tell time!" Our Snow Bird neighbors came piling out of their RV's and ran over to see it when we came back from washing it. Everyone's comments were "Wow, what quality!" Yep!

As with anything, you have various comments, but 99% were positive.

Our 3 grandaughters are spending their Spring Break with us this week and that is another reason I have been delayed in making my report. We return them to their mom about 1.5 hrs. away tomorrow evening and we will be taking the Raindrop and Jack and going SOMEWHERE - I don't know where - maybe just the side of the road, but we're Hittin' the Road with Jack! More coming later and pics to be posted when I get back on the internet and my computer fixed. I can ck. things with my Iphone if anyone leaves a comment. It's just slow typing with my thumbs! (Especially as much as I like to talk!)

THANKS CARY & CRAIG! You have a beautiful product and we are going to take excellent care of it cause I know it's only ADOPTED - that you still consider them yours!

Many, many congratulations! We are very excited for you and can't wait to pick ours up sometime after Labor Day. Can't wait to see your pictures.

Congrats guys! I've been reading your posts and know it's been a journey for you. How fun and fine now that you've got it! YAY!

Linda, isn't that just one of the greatest things about teardropping - just heading out with no idea where you will go, but it doesn't matter because you can stop literally anywhere!

Evan-Yes! That has been my goal for many years. But we've decided to postpone our trip to somewhere for about a week- I need to rest a bit after 3 grandkids and all the excitement of getting our new baby!

Found out my computer's not the problem - it's the router in the campground - it got struck by lightening and will be replaced - I'm on now, but since Spring Break is over, most of the campground is empty, so that helps too...
