We ordered up our contract for a 560 Ultra and have a September build slot. Can't wait--September is a long way away. We will have to take a lot of patience pills. Does it snow in Wisc in Sept?? Will I need chains for the TD? Just kidding but we'll probably head south rather than tool around the upper midwest. Maybe our first rally will be the Camp in Camp Out.

The foliage should be quite nice in Wisconsin in September if it is later in September. I hope the wait isn't too hard.

Oh you should attend plan on the Campinn-Campoutt. You'll get to see alot of trailers, get alot of ideas for your trailer to work on over the winter and meet alot of of good folks.

It's always held at Juneau County Castle Rock Park in Mauston, about 15 minutes from the shop.

I was going to give you the link to last year's CICO thread so you could read through it & see what it was like, but it looks like the thread is no longer in existence...I'll have to get the info from one of the other teardrop forums & post it here

Sorry, just saw your reply. Still figuring out how this forum works.
We ordered the SUV package, AC but no heater (we live in FL!!), TV, bumper, brakes, battery upgrade, fan upgrade, bat isolator, back up lights and door screens. Hope there will be room for us with all the added stuff!
The check goes to CI tomorrow so we're locked in for the Sept date. Lllllooooonnnnggg llllooooonnnnnngggggg tttttrrraaaiiiilllleeeerrr WAIT!

Sounds like a great build, but touch base with Cary about the fan upgrade. It's works a little differently than the standard fan they offer.

Yes, definitely check with us on that. Don't assume that the upgrade cost means it is a better setup. It is a very different setup.

Cary, I think we talked breifly about the FF. I think it's the rain sensor type that I'm used to in motorhomes, Right? Closes if it gets wet, then opens after the sensor dries? Is that the main difference?
BTW, "the check is in the mail"!
 
There are other differences too. Mainly in the fact that the thing must open all the way or be all the way shut. Since most of the time you use the thing as a vent and control the temperature by how much you open it you completely loose that ability with the 6000 series. Also, the rain sensor only works when the fan is on.

Shoot your wait is just around the corner. I did my order on November 21st with a mid Sept delivery date. How did you get in front of me? Only kidding, I picked the delivery date due to summer commitments. Congrats.

My FF came with an automatic rain sensor. We had the vent cracked open while sleeping, it rained, Meribeth got wet. The sensor elbowed me in the ribs and I shut the vent. Works like a champ :D

Benn, thanks. You just saved me $80 bucks! Now my rain sensor can spend it on something else. How was the Keys trip? I'm curious, how often did you need to use the AC this time of year? How noisy is it?
Come on over to TV when you have a chance. The 3rd Sat each month as a large cruise in. Hundreds of fully restored old cars. Even saw a home made teardrop one time. Didn't know what it was at the time. Figured it must be for a big dog! I'll post the pic sometime.

We only used the AC one evening to cool things off before turning in. The temp was about 70 when we called it quits for the night and in the mid 60's when we woke up. The AC make a constant noise so its no problem for us to sleep.

We will have to figure out a time to head over to TV.
