Weiman, Sheila Shine, and other stainless steel cleaners for aluminum?

I was wondering if anyone has tried using either Weiman or Sheila Shine stainless steel cleaner and polish on the aluminum exterior of their Camp-Inn. I use Weiman on the stainless steel in the galley of my 560, and I tried a little on the stainless steel fender. It works remarkably well in both locations. But before I go ahead and try either product on the aluminum, I'd like to know if anyone here has experience. FWIW, a campground neighbor highly recommended using Sheila Shine on aluminum, based on his experience in the custodial sector.

I think Weiman used to be the recommended cleaner -- we still have our can from 518! A little goes a LONG way with that stuff!!! Just the lightest of sprays. Using more will just mean a lot more paper towels and not any cleaner....the towel to quantity ratio was exponential.

Cary told us during his orientation for 518 that they had a rental unit -- they would send out sometimes. WHen they hired a new employee, it was their job to prepare it when it came back so it was ready for the next trip. Part of the initiation was to tell them to use more than they needed so it would take a tremendous amount of effort to clean up the cleaner.

Barkeepers friend is my personal favorite thought at least when things get ....bad.

Aluminum cleaners. I'm not sure there is consensus yet. But, and this is NOT blessed by the nest....my choice is Sprayway glass cleaner. Its a aerosol can foam cleaner available at walmart and just about everywhere else. I use a disposable microfiber towel (also from walmart -- think microfiber meets paper towel in teh auto detailing section) I have been using it for a full year now and have had good results. However, as with any cleaner -- caution is always advised and you are using it at your own risk :D

Thanks, Sweeney. We just washed our Lunar Bug 560 today, so I'll try some Weiman this week on some inconspicuous parts. If I understood him, Cary told me in an email he was unaware of anyone who used either Weiman or Sheila Shine. I don't know if he didn't remember or is setting me up a la the initiation you mentioned, but I'll be sure to use the Weiman sparingly, per your advice.

Thanks also for your recommendation of Barkeeper's Friend. We use the cookware version for our stainless cookware, and it is amazing.

Now I"m sorry I told you about it! Frankly, that sounds like a joke I would pull as well. Though hazing is frowned up on these days, some times you just need to initiate the new guy...if anything just to see how he reacts. Our loss of a collective sense of humor is kind of sad.
