Had three great nights over the 4th at William Heise State Park near the charming little town of Julian, California. Highly recommended. Well spaced out and very private campsites, may with partial hookups. Dog friendly with beautiful cedar lined, shaded hiking trails. In non-COVID times they often have local music in the outdoor amphitheater. Friendly staff and clean restrooms and showers available, although a bit far from some of the sites. Highly recommend site 22 if you go. Julian is a quaint old town with lots of nice shops. Known for its apple orchards and of course, the very famous Julian Pie Company is a must stop.
