Non camp-inn mattress

We tried a 6” Milliard trifold mattress (Amazon) and found it to be too thick. Not just in the foot well but also it sticks out above the green skirts by the doors so bedding easily spills out. Went with the 4” Millard and like it very much. I did open it up, cut off a 2 inches to make it fit better between the doors.

Same. 6" was just "too hard" weirdly enough and too tall unless side sleeping for toes rubbing.
I'm back to the OEM mattress with a thin memory foam on top contained by a padded mattress cover. And a thick flat style sleeping bag, flannel sheets inside.
I may experiment with the natural latex kinds of different weight mattress pads that a recent poster here has tried, cut to fit and kept inside the OEM mattress cover, in place of the two density original, as mine is getting old since 2010.
That oem green cover is just too handy in terms of keeping inside cushion and removing along with external bedding easily,
In camp or after the trip to sweep and clean, especially with a sandy/muddy paw best friend sleeping with ya.

It rides on a hypervent pad that takes up little space veryically but helps with moisture evap under the OEM mattress cover.

My teardrop doesn't come with a mattress, so I'm looking at 4" memory foam ones at different places...like Walmart. It looks like the Camp-Inn is two inches shorter and narrower than a standard queen? Do I just cram a regular sized queen mattress in there? Does anyone have any recommendations?
I bought a latex mattress for mine exact size, found out I didn't need it as the campinn is fine and has a waterproof cover. I'll sell you mine but I'm in nh and might cost to ship. Second option is buy a cheap heat knife on Amazon, makes a perfect cut though synthetics. Just use a straightedge for a guide. Wrap in tape first or you'll short out the knife

My stock CI mattress has no blue side but is two layers, although it does have 2235 written in blue on the Velcro end of the foam. Should I assume the blue number is on the soft side? I think I'm in the market for a FIRMER mattress. For those who have replaced your stock CI mattress, have you found a FIRM 4" mattress? Or, for those who have added a topper to your 4" mattress, do you feel a 6" mattress (total height) leaves enough height in the footwell to be comfortable? I see Brooklyn Bedding has a FIRM 6" mattress at their RV mattress site, but I'm unsure if that height might be pushing footwell height comfort. I wear a women's size 9 hiking boot.
Not enough foot height with 2 mattresses

There are a couple past threads here including a lady who was aiming to try a couple of different density organic latex mattresses...don't recall if she updated results but you could see if you can PM her...

@Cary Winch
Would two 2" layers work to replace the OEM mattress inside the OEM cover?
