Non camp-inn mattress

We tried a 6” Milliard trifold mattress (Amazon) and found it to be too thick. Not just in the foot well but also it sticks out above the green skirts by the doors so bedding easily spills out. Went with the 4” Millard and like it very much. I did open it up, cut off a 2 inches to make it fit better between the doors.

Same. 6" was just "too hard" weirdly enough and too tall unless side sleeping for toes rubbing.
I'm back to the OEM mattress with a thin memory foam on top contained by a padded mattress cover. And a thick flat style sleeping bag, flannel sheets inside.
I may experiment with the natural latex kinds of different weight mattress pads that a recent poster here has tried, cut to fit and kept inside the OEM mattress cover, in place of the two density original, as mine is getting old since 2010.
That oem green cover is just too handy in terms of keeping inside cushion and removing along with external bedding easily,
In camp or after the trip to sweep and clean, especially with a sandy/muddy paw best friend sleeping with ya.

It rides on a hypervent pad that takes up little space veryically but helps with moisture evap under the OEM mattress cover.
