560 Ultra Build (planning stage)

We also went with mahogany. It was a tough decision because we could only look at samples, the pictures on the web don't do the wood justice and with chianti leather we are happy with the look. It doesn't make it "dark" as we worried about but we do have a sunroof which might effect that.

Diane and Michael,

Just so you understand. The Mahogany and Bamboo is not replacing Birch anywhere. The yellow American Birch we use in the construction of the trailers and the cabinets are not affected by this option. The light colored piece that Ron showed in his pictures is the cabinet material, not the standard paneling. This was shown to reflect the contrast that would be seen in the cabin and galley with the two options. The standard paneling is not shown in his pictures. The standard paneling is a faux Oak finish wainscotting type paneling. It is similiar in "darkness" to the Bamboo shown in the pictures.

Planning stage is complete, our build has started got first pictures last night. Very cool to watch our 560 (WALL-E) take shape. Anxiously waiting more pictures...what a fun process...R

The planning trailer stage is coming to an end as.we pick up WALL-E on Friday. The trip planning has begun. Will pick him up at CI meet with Cary and Craig and then the adventure begins. Thanks to all for answering our questions and guiding us through this phase ...let the fun begin....

Ron & Missy,

Congrats on your new 560, and best wishes as you begin your new adventures with it. Jayle and I are a few years away from our 560, and would love to see your new Raindrop if you're open to that. We also live in the Quad Cities(Silvis), do you think you're interested in giving us a "tour"? No hurry, so please think about it and let me know.

Many thanks,

Bob

Bob N Jayle -

Welcome to the forum - you find a lot of useful information out here, along with many people that are willing to help by answering your questions.

Congrats! I saw WALL-E in the last row last Thursday when I toured the factory, Cary told me who it belonged to.

Enjoy!

Bob and Jayne,

Absolutely, we will be camping this weekend with it near lacrosse wi. This weekend. I will send you a pm on the forum in the near future...thanks ron

We are home and so is WALL-E. What a great time and very exciting day. We met with Cary at 9:15 on Friday and 6.5 hours later left the CI facility. Cary was outstanding and went over every inch of the trailer with us. The craftsmanship was beyond our expectatio0ns and attention to detail was obvious. We are so proud of the workmanship! We left CI and stayed in Lacrosse Wi at a Pettibone Park along the Mississippi. We set up in a moderate down pour, thank God for the Northern Breeze it saved the evening from a total wash out.. Got it setup and backed the trailer into it, which allowed us to setup and keep half dry. Rained all night and was 42 degrees the heater was great. Cooked breakfast the following morn the remainder of day nice but cool. Met with one of Missy's high school classmates (Terry and Julie) who are also CI owners for dinner and talked CI's and future outings. Great Time. Made the 200 mile return trip home the Outback pulled it great! Thanks again to all who made this experience, from start to finish, such a positive and rewarding one! Ron and Missy..

Bad weather puts a little damper on things but the excitement of learning about your new trailer is really fun. I ran into snow on my way home. The furnace was wonderful but one night I came to the trailer late and it was really cold and dark down by the river and the furnace didn't work. I had good bedding so was fine once my body got the bed warm. In the morning I got out the book and found the furnace fuse. It had jiggled loose during travel so maybe wasn't quite seated into place at the factory. What a relief that it was a simple fix.

Missy & Ron, glad you made it home safe and sound! Wall-E is absolutely beautiful! Love the options and features that she has! We look forward to meeting up with you again for some camping time together. Have fun planning your summer adventures!!

So glad to hear that you are proud owners of Wall-E! That first night camping is so exciting! We're in our 26th night with our teardrop and love her and the experiences! We've traveled from Wisconsin to California (just arrived today) and she tows beautifully and is so comfortable! Have wonderful adventures with your trailer! Congrats!

Sorry really didnt give it much thought heading home. The OB has the 3.6R and didnt even know the trailer was there. No problems with the hills south of LaCrosse. Will let you know when we take on a longer trip. W/O trailer we average 24mpg...R

Congratulations on your new CI, also thank you for sharing the info on your TV. We get our CI in 22 days. Looking to get a better TV in the next two years. Have looked at the OB and 4Runner. Right now we have a 98 Expedition with 8-11 MPG when we towed the pop-up.
