You may have noticed that under your name is the title "stranger".

This is because by default, every new user is a "stranger" until they make 25 posts. Then they become a "newbie". At 50 you become a "journeyman", and so on...

Currently the titles are:
0 stranger
25 newbie
50 journeyman
100 member
200 enthusiast
400 addict
700 old hand
1200 veteran
1600 Pooh-bah
2500 Carpal Tunnel

I'd like to change these to something more reflective of our teardrop focus, and I'm opening this up for your input.

What titles could we bestow to our members here as we all progress up the posting ladder? Please post your thoughts - doesn't have to be a complete list - even just one liners are helpful!

Well having never built one or never having seen one built, The Camp Inn group would probably have a better idea.

lets see designer, framed, taking shape, etc, I am sure there are some neat names that they use for their levels of the build.

My only suggestion would be to drop the title of "stranger." It just seems cold. Instead maybe use 1-25 as newbie and 26-50 as explorer?


I like the idea of aligning with the build process, but really done know this process.

I have to agree with you... after my first response the "stranger" label was a little standoffish.... but love the idea of the forum and thank Evan for putting it together

I haven't had time to redo the member titles with anything thematic, so I just changed 'stranger' to 'ranger'.

I'll get around to this serious business sooner or later... :)
 
Jenn, just so you know, I have mounted one in the kitchen area for my left and right (for the leveling jacks). The second one I have I stalled in my storage area in the alcan area so I can adjust the back and front.

That is pretty funny you came across this!
 
I have an ipod and an application: iHandy Carpenter $1.99. (Or you can get just the level for free). It has a plumb bob, a surface level, spirit level, ruler and protractor. I have only used the level. You have to calibrate it first but then it works quity niffty. I pop it out of my pocket and place it anywhere I want (galley, door, table. . ) and walla level. But actually my eye is pretty good so most of the time just go by eye and the open doors.
 
I thought I saw somewhere that there is an IPhone app for leveling. Also I want to see if I'm still a "stranger". I propose changing those known as "full-timer" to "drifters", that has a nice unsavory ring to it.

Jenn, I use this one: Camco 25573 RV Bullseye Level (Amazon) I keep it in the utensil drawer, set it on the counter then level....you can see the side to side and tongue level at the same time...I didn't want to permanently mount the level(s)
 
I use the leveling jacks a bit differently. I elevate the wife's side a couple of degrees. All night long she keeps rolling down towards me.....

If the teardrop is rockin'.....Don't come a'knockin'.

I am so in trouble if she ever decides to read this forum.
