There is a book out "Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day".
I think I can post the recipe, and not get into copyright issues, not sure. You can go up on their web site and get it.
It is terrific. The best part is it is easy to make, and you can make it ahead of time and put in cooler or refer and take it with you to bake at camp. IE Dutch Oven. I use mini bread pans and make mini loaves.
Also if on long camp trip make it up freeze it and thaw as you need it. It is a no knead bread. :)

George,
I've seen the book and thought about purchasing it. I'm working my way through the Bread Baker's Apprentice. I'm sold on the long cold rise method for bread!
Did you just place the loaf pans in the DO -or did you put them on a rack inside the DO?

I will bake my bread by using some aluminum bread pans. These are mini loafs and I can get 2 loaves in a 10" Reg DO No trivet.
If I am doing the artisan bread, I preheat to DO, spray a very quick shot of cooking spray, and sprinkle some corn meal on bottom. Then I plop the boule directly in the oven. Works real good.

I tried the Artisan Bread in the house oven. Pretty darn good -esp for the amount of work! Tim really likes home baked bread - this makes it super easy!
I'm thinking of trying it in the DO in backyard in a few days to see if I can get it to work. I'll keep you posted!

When you make up the dough, and you have refrigerated, divide into 1# pcs, and put in zip lock bags, or if you have a food saver vacuum seal them and then freeze them. Now you can do fresh bread while camping. This basic recipe makes excellent skillet english style muffins. Fresh bread/ toast for B fast.
