Side Tent Side Tent Rain Flys

Since mother nature has decided the Northwest needs more rain and cold (it was snowing in Portland this morning, which it doesn't usually do after Valentines...it only stuck a little bit), I am seriously considering one of these. Jenn, which waterproofer did you use (and like)? Need to sort all of that out. I don't think we have taken the side tent out of the bag yet, but it is something I think I am going to start using. Especially on trips where it is just me and the lad.

Sarah, last year we went camping the last weekend in September and it rained pretty solidly on Saturday. I had the side tent set up with the rainfly. Inside the side tent stayed completely dry. I have not applied water proofing to the side tent. I probably will this year before heading out but will continue to use the rainfly.

Thanks Joan, that is really good to know. I need to practice putting that up, and I need to learn how to do the NB on my own. I am hoping all of our summer didn't arrive in January! I told Mick if this keeps up, tickets to Hawaii will be bought (and I might not come home!).

Thanks Jenn. I will take a look around and see if I can find something. The REI dividends are on the way soon, so some of that will be applied to stuff for Dottie! An alcove tent with sides and waterproofer I think.
