Some Additions to the Guidon

I have the OXO square ones too, although mine are green so might not be the OXO brand, but Bed Bath and Beyond has them if you have one near by and of course Amazon (note, prime shipping went up to $99, but for me still worth it, 2nd day free shipping)

I'm not really impressed with the "Pump Top" but they seem to seal fairly well.

I guess I do have the OXO...
(Gawd, these websites that won't let you copy the pic link is growing...)

Dan and Vanessa, all great ideas, well thought out and beautifully executed. Every time I go to do something at the sink and brush my head against the support rod for the galley hatch I think of you telling me about the table offset bracket you designed and made while we visited with you in San Antonio last December. So glad to hear that Camp-Inn is incorporating this into the new trailers and hopefully offering this as an accessory to the rest of us, I'll be the 1st in line. Love the sink cutting board, if you make another one can I have the one in the picture, ha ha. By the by I see a sink stopper in that picture, where did you get it, we don't have one on our trailer, we've been on a holy stopper quest since we left Necedah. We've looked in every hardware store from Wisconsin to Florida to California with no luck, either too big or too small.

Michael

Michael,

You didn't include the sink stopper option in your build? It can't be added afterwards!

Ha ha Evan, if you only knew what we've been through with this sink stopper, you might think twice about making jokes, I have a feeling someone at sometime at Camp-Inn has scratched their head saying " I wonder where this extra sink stopper came from... "

While I've got you on the line Evan... so happy to hear of your success of late... hope to see you and the family at Mossyrock in a couple of months.

Michael

Michael-

Thanks! We've had fun doing the "tweaking." Just one or two more to follow.

Done! You have dibs on the current board when I make the new one! As for the stopper...it did come with the sink and it must have been overlooked on yours. I'm sure Cary will be able to rectify that. It certainly would be irritating to not have one!

I've been enjoying your entries and look forward to each one. Safe travels!

Can't believe the sink stopper story - sure evidence that you missed something in the Camp-Inn walk through with Cary - I can just hear him laughing and scratching his head over this one. Probably a meeting of the big 3: Craig, Marty and Cary having a hoot. No one will ever miss their sink stopper in the future.

Hey thanks Dan, that's a pretty spiffy sink cover/ cutting board, maybe that too could be a Camp-Inn accessory. When I saw your picture of Guidon's galley with the sink stopper, well I did get curious whether it came with the trailer. We've been using wadded up paper towels in the drain everytime we do dishes, just couldn't find one that fit, so don't ever lose that stopper!

Glad to hear you're enjoying The Dew Drop Inn Chronicles, fun to share.

Michael

I love all this stuff. The table extension is great, as is the cutting board. Sorry I made a joke about the level. Some times I am an arse, even when I'm not trying to be one.

Very nice additions.

May I suggest a plastic cover for a drain stop until you can get one? you know, a cover from a butter dish or something, tupperware..

Our stopper is on a chain, attached to the trailer. The only way we will lose it is if someone really wants it and takes it! If mine goes missing at NWRU, I will be coming for a visit! :)

Believe me, we tried everything, we made several stoppers that seemed promising at first, but you'd only get through half your dishes before all the hot water drained out so then you'd have to heat more water on the stove...we bought stoppers that did the same thing, leak the water out slow half way through a sink of dirty dishes, only thing that worked was wadded up paper towel, boy does that get old!

HaHa Sarah, not to worry, I'm sure we'll get one from Camp-Inn long before the NWRU, hey wait, let me think, I do have one of those May Tag washer dryer Camp-Inn accessories aboard Dewey. Do you want to trade your sink stopper for it, even Steven?

Michael

OK fair enough, offer stil stands, anyone else out there want to trade their sink stopper for a May Tag washer drier?

Michael

To perhaps help you in your sink stopper quest...

I took a photo of the underside of my sink stopper. In case it's difficult to read the photo, here's what it says:
Italia LIRA
No 00252 Brev. LR
DIN 78901
23456
0 50.5 - 10 0
2"

Which... I didn't look that hard, but I found it available in the UK, :) http://www.stevensonplumbing.co.uk/franke-lira-plug-with-chain.html Hopefully, armed with this information, if you can't wait for a trip to the nest to pick one up, a plumbing supply store can track one down for you.
